Transfer Processes¶
- Growth moves carbon from atmosphere to biomass pools.
- Turnover moves carbon from biomass to dead organic matter pools.
- Decay moves carbon from dead organic matter pools to atmosphere or other pools.
- Disturbances accelerate or redirect transfers between pools.
